Premature Articulation

Where we talk about the book
before we finish the book.

The Fault In Our Stars

DIANE: 4/21/2014 3:03am: Oh Em Gee, guys. I read The Fault In Our Stars all in one sitting today. Just finished. Yes I cried lol.

JAN: 4/30/2014 3:31pm: Upon reading the part where they watch V for Vendetta, I knew Ann would hate Hazel's description of the movie.  Frankly, I did too.  Lines in the sand between Girl Movies and Boy Movies are such gender normative crap.

JAN: 4/30/2014 5:11pm: I have this gut-wrenching feeling that it's going to be him and not her.

Nightwood

DIANE: 4/11/2014 7:13pm: I’m just 2 chapters in and the language is very labyrinthine. It’s beautiful though.

DIANE: 4/14/2014 5:42pm: Half-way through and still waiting for this story to begin.

Good Omens

DIANE: 3/7/2014 9:59pm: I just started today, and it is so hilarious. I was cackling loudly on the gym elliptical and turning many heads. Tons of characters, but I'm glad they list them all out nicely with descriptions. Here's one of my favorite quotes so far:

"Anyway, being brought up as a Satanist tended to take the edge off it. It was something you did on Saturday nights. And the rest of the time you simply got on with life as best you could, just like everyone else."

Great pick, Ann!

DIANE: 3/15/2014 6:18pm: The part where Aziraphale attempts to be a magician for Warlock's birthday party. LOL

On Such A Full Sea

DIANE: 2/26/2014 8:43pm: I'm over half-way through now, and wow there are some shocking turns here with the driving scene and then after, at the house in Seneca. I'm starting to see how Fan's story falls into the monomyth theory of the hero's journey. You can expect me to blog on that.

ANN: 2/27/2014 6:28pm: THE MONOMYTH AND I ARE BROS.

DIANE: 2/27/2014 6:33pm: Awesomesauce. Can't wait to hear/read your input. I'm planning on finishing the book tonight or tomorrow and posting tomorrow.

JAN: 3/3/2014 3:10pm: Two thoughts:
1. That totally oddball thought that was "Fan" and "Reg" sound like "fantastic" and "regular" to me.
2. I just got to the part where Fan's brother tells her "Who else would ever help you? Who else would ever care?" All I could think was, "Only every person she has met in this book." Also, "I don't like you." lol

DIANE: 3/3/2014 6:22pm: I like the symbolic suggestion in idea (1). And yeah, about (2) just wait and see about this brother.
